Érick d’Orion
Sound Art Installations Curator

I’m an audio artist and independent curator, active in the field of sound art since 1995. Since 2010, I’ve been Curating the Sound Art Installations in the Public Spaces program at the Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville (FIMAV), after having designed more than a dozen events dedicated to audio art.

My work explores maximalism at the frontiers of noise, musique concrète, free jazz, and electroacoustics. I play in several ensembles, including the morceaux_de_machines duo and the Napalm Jazz trio, and have shared the stage with artists such as Evan Parker, Martin Tétreault, Otomo Yoshihide, and Mats Gustafsson.

Since 2009, I’ve been collaborating with Productions Rhizome on hybrid literature/digital art projects. With artist Catherine Lalonde Massecar since 2015, I develop interdisciplinary sound and dramaturgical creations. I also compose for film, notably with Martin Bureau and David B. Ricard, as well as for the performing arts.

My discography includes over fifty albums. From January to June 2026, I am in residence at the Studio du Québec à Paris, a CALQ grant.
