Two rows of vintage speakers from the 1970s were salvaged several years ago from a Zionist summer camp that Gambletron attended as a child. This work reflects the formative experiences of nationalist and colonial indoctrination. Firmly aligned with the Palestinian cause, the artists divert the speakers from their original use, inviting the audience to interact with a poetically liberating multi-channel pirate radio broadcast.

Biographical Note:

“We are Resistor, a collective that meets in a liminal space between anger and celebration, between Tkaronto (Toronto) and Tiotià:ke (Montreal), Palestine, Poland, and Turtle Island. We imagine within our shared diaspora, invent our history, build and rebuild endlessly. Oliver is a speaker maker, acoustic engineer, and audiophile. Gambletron is a sound artist and musician with a passion for radio. Johnny is a digital artist, and a visual and conceptual creator. (But let’s not dwell on titles.) We create media artworks. FIMAV is hosting our second collaboration.”
